I LOVE MY LIFE!!!

I have the most wonderful, and supportive hubby on the planet. He lets me knit, and read, and shop and blog, and watch Days of Our Lives in bed...with him.

My son is adorable, and I do not mean in the "I am the mommy, and I am biased kind of way"... I mean he is C.U.T.E. cute, he has a ton of hair, he is always smiling, and laughing, and has the most amazing blue eyes! Everyone we meet, or know thinks this is true, so must be true right?

Right now I am sitting in the backyard lounging, hubby is weeding our little garden, and EJ is squealing in delight at who knows what.

I am exactly sure when it happened, but the other day I realized something. I am HAPPY, we are talking shout it at the top of your lungs, celebrate with chocolate cake, the sun is shining and birds are singing HAPPY!!!

...when did that happen?

Another year older....

in the words of my youngest brother"dude that's a ton of candles"... as if I did not notice!!
-but then again thirty has not been so bad! I received many wonderful gifts from my friends and family and best of all I learned that at midnight on March 7/8 I did NOT turn into a pumpkin.

On Monday night my husband and friends had a small surprise party for me,
something I had never had before, it was pretty awesome!
Some of my gifts included (a new pair of Ice Skates), (Money to spend on YARN),
(board games), (money for Amazon), plus lots of other little things.

One of my gifts was a list from my dear friend lisa...
this list made me smile and made me cry-so I had to share:

  1. your enthusiasm
  2. the smell of your shampoo (pureology for the record)
  3. your curiosity
  4. your love of reading

  6. your decor ala' photography
  7. the way you interact with my kids
  8. your hunger for God

  10. EJ
  11. your recommended reading list
  12. your passion
  13. your creativity
  14. your nervousness of turning 30
  15. the joy you find in EJ
  16. your journey with God
  17. Your drive
  18. your smile
  19. the way you love knitting
  20. the way you process through your fears
  21. the you&max story
  22. your honest heart
  23. the way you introduced us to the art of the cupcake
  24. the willingness to try something new

  26. you decisiveness
  27. the invitation you extended to me to be at EJ's birth

I am so grateful for Lisa and her friendship...
It is truly the best gift of all! A gift from God!

...skating to 30!!

I have wanted to learn to ice skate since the 1992 whenI watched Kristi Yamaguchi win the Olympic Gold in Women's Figure Skating.

I have been in love with figure skating since the 6th grade when I wrote my Sport Report in Mr. Kenny's class.

I went Ice Skating for the first time on my 16th birthday. I have skated on and off for the past 15years.

....now it is time for something different, I want to spin, and twirl, and jump, and glide! I want to learn to do this for real, and I know it will take time and dedication. I want to wear the amazing costumes and glide to the music.

After speaking at length with Max, arrangements have been made for EJ and I will start group lessons on Thursday February 25th at Snoopy's Home Ice

My birthday is almost here, and so in 15 days I will be skating my way to 30!!!!!

Knitting Update....picture heavy post.

I have recently been frustrated at my inability to finish anything via knitting... so I reevaluated my projects and decided to only work on a select few at a time.... here is what made the cut.

HPKCHC- Quidditch uniforms... a sweatband for EJ, and a headband for mommy!~
These are finished, and so I had to share the pictures!!!!

Square 1 of my Great American Afghan..... and just think I only have 79 to go...

Fish...glorious fish, I have committed to making 65 for EJ's daycare nap blanket.

...and then our February KAL. I have no idea what I am making but I recently heard that I have tons of more stripes to go... my guess is a purse. (progress up to day4)

Slither-an original pattern designed by one of my HPKCHC friends.

...back to my needles...

...I have come to realize

I saw this on a good friends blog, and had to play along
***
I’ve come to realize that my job. . . offers me more then just an income, but also mental stimulation and peer interaction.

I’ve come to realize that when I’m driving. . . the things I hear on the radio can influence my mood for the remainder of my day

I’ve come to realize that I need. . .more sleep, and I am counting the days until EJ sleeps through the night

I’ve come to realize that I have lost. . .my ability to always be "suzy sunshine", but that is okay because I am learning to be more realistic in my expectations

I’ve come to realize that I hate it when. . . I am not in control

I’ve come to realize that if I’m drunk. . . I am breaking promise to myself, excess is just not necessary, and I do NOT need alcohol to have fun!

I’ve come to realize that money… is my least favorite thing to worry about (and yet I find myself worrying about it the most.) ((ditto))

I’ve come to realize that certain people. . . were brought into my life by God, and I am forever greatful for their friendship and support!! (AK/LP thats you!!!)

I’ve come to realize that I’ll always. . . be the outside member of the group, but I am getting better at marching to my own drum!

I’ve come to realize that my sibling(s). . . no longer need me to take care of them!

I’ve come to realize that my mom... does the best she can, and needs my love and support no matter what!

I’ve come to realize that my cell phone. . . is an extension of me.

I’ve come to realize that when I woke up this morning. . that I only have one more week until I return to work full time!

I’ve come to realize that last night before I went to sleep. . . I miss my husband at night, and I can not wait until EJ sleeps through the night so Max will come back to the master bedroom!

I’ve come to realize that right now I am thinking. . . of the knitting projects waiting to be finished within the next week!

I’ve come to realize that my dad. . . really did have my best interest at heart.

I’ve come to realize that when I get on Facebook. . . I put way to much stock into what other people think.

I’ve come to realize that today. . . . is the start of my new beginning as a mother...

I’ve come to realize that tonight. . . my husband will be camping with friends and I am running solo with EJ

I’ve come to realize that tomorrow. . . I will be going to church alone.

I’ve come to realize that I really want to . . . finish my degree, learn sign-language-and write a novel (all before I turn 40)

I’ve come to realize that the person mostly likely to re-post this is. . . LP

I’ve come to realize that life. . . is exactly what I make of it!

I’ve come to realize that this weekend. . . is going way tooo fast

I’ve come to realize that my friends. . . are a choice...so I must choose, and choose wisely! (insert last crusade joke)

I’ve come to realize that this year. . . is my chance to become the potential so many see in me

I’ve come to realize that my husband. . . is the person I trust most.

I’ve come to realize that maybe I should. . . be washing dishes instead of blogging

I’ve come to realize that I love. . . my internet friends, just as much as the ones that knock at my front door (if not more in some cases)

I’ve come to realize that I don’t understand. . . the motives of some people

I’ve come to realize my past. . . has happened, but by God's grace I am forgiven

I’ve come to realize that parties. . . are not for me

I’ve come to realize that I’m totally terrified. . . repeating the mistakes that scar me

I’ve come to realize that my life. . . is just that, my life.

**I use my blog as the one place I do not filter what is on my mind (if anyone real-life reads this and is offended I am sorry, this is for me to process and share and never for you to feel condemned)
