A Passion Redeemed by Julie Lessman (review and giveaway)

From Amazon: Graced with physical beauty, though shallow of heart, Charity O'Connor is a woman who knows what she wants. She sets her sights on the cantankerous Mitch Dennehy, editor at the Irish Times, who has unwittingly stolen her heart. And although the sparks are there, Mitch refuses to fan the coals of a potential relationship with his ex-fiancée's sister. But Charity has a plan to turn up the heat and she always gets what she wants--one way or another. Is revenge so sweet after all? Or will Charity get burned? Full of intense passion, betrayal, and forgiveness, A Passion Redeemed will delight Lessman's fans and draw new ones.

My Review: Julie's 2nd novel Passion Redeemed is filled with vibrant characters that we came to love as well as a few new faces, wonderful story telling and important messages. We follow Charity, Faith's younger sister as she uses all her wit and charms to get what she wants. Along the way she learns that what she wants is'nt always what she needs. Sometimes you have to make others happy, to truly realize what you want. Sometimes you have to hit bottom to before you can know who you really are.
This book resonated so much more then the first as I saw myself in the pages, and found it difficult to move on without shedding tears. This book, like the first is a class act. Thank you Julie, you did it again!!!!!!

Please post a comment with your email address in the
(at) (dot) format to win a copy of this great book!
Winner will be drawn on 5/17/09 and announced that Monday

Boy, isn't that the truth, that everything we want isn't what we need! Reality check! Sounds like a good book.

Soooo true! Why is it we have to learn the hard way? This book sounds fabulous and I'd love a chance to win.

Oh my goodness!! It's like a miracle! I CAN SEE! I CAN SEE!

(loud chuckling on this end)

You know I want the book, but if I cant have it then I already checked my local B&N to see that they have it in stock - and they do! So if I don't win (*sniffle), then I'll just go down the road and buy it!

HELGA MARIE -- Thank you AGAIN for your kindness in hosting me on your blog!

BRITTANY ANN, sorry your summer book list just got longer, but soooo glad my book will be in the stack! Just a word of warning, however ... this is a series that needs to be read in order due to several HUGE surprises in book 1, so if you have to beg, borrow or steal, I encourage you to read book 1 first.

SANDEE61 ... soooo glad you already have book 1, and I'm anxious to see what you think of book 2. It actually was my favorite of all three in the series for a long time because Charity was just SO much fun to redeem, but now I think it's neck and neck with book 3, A Passion Denied. :)

Linda, thanks for dropping by to leave a comment ... good luck!

SHERRINDA!!! I have your won copy of A Passion Most Pure in my stack ready to be mailed, so that would be cool if I could send two books at once, girlfriend!!

CARLY, sooo glad you have heard good things about this series, and we'll see what we can do about getting book 1 into your hands so YOU can say "good things" about it too (I hope!). :)

SOXY DEB!!! Let's see if you will be two for two! But, uh, maybe you better read your won copy of A Passion Most Pure before you run out to buy A Passion Redeemed ... most readers HATE Charity so much that my editor and agent were both worried about me making her the heroine in book 2. BUT, she gets hers in this book, most people are happy to see, and as Helga Marie said, "rock bottom" is where she finally meets the Lover of her Soul.

Hugs,
Julie

Let me just tell you that I love these characters so much! If you like Scarlett from Gone With the Wind you'll just love Charity, and Mitch...wheeewww...*swooning*

Hahahaha just had to say that, oh and one more thing whoever picks these cover models needs a raise!! Wow, all the girls are so pretty and the guys...does anybody know where I can find them ? ;-)

This blog is terrific...and Julie thanks again for the wonderful books!

Hey, ASHLEY, good to see you here! Thank you SO much for your sweet comment, and especially your support!

And, RENEE, oh, honey -- I'm with you on Mitch!! That man makes me swoon, I'll tell ya!! Definitely one of my favorite heroes, although honestly, I love them ALL!!

And, grin, I totally agree that my cover artist, Cheryl Van Andel, needs a raise -- the covers have been amazing, both in design and model selection. And even I can't "find" them ... the model who posed for Collin is a 21-year-old college student from Michigan named Reed. And let me tell ya, I wanted to set him up with my then 20-year-old daughter in the worst way!! :)

Hugs,
Julie

I've already own this book, so don't enter me in the drawing. Just wanted to say how very much I enjoyed it! The only problem I have is that I would love to read it again but ever since I got it, it's been passed around from one friend to another and hasn't yet made it's way back to me! :) They all love it!
Wouldn't it be great if they made movies out of your books, Julie? I would love that!

I haven't read any of Julie's books--would love to. Enter me, please.

CAROLYNN ... honey, what you need to do is KEEP your name in the hat for this contest, then I will send you a signed book, and you can let your friends keep the other!

And, don't think I haven't pictured my books as movies, girl, because EVERY author does. In fact, I did a character spotlight on Relz Review where she asked me who I would pick to play Lizzie and Brady, and OH MY, the actor I show for Brady is sooooooo Brady and such a heart throb!! Here's the link if you want to check it out:
http://relzreviewz.blogspot.com/2009/04/character-spotlight-julie-lessmans-john.html. Just copy and paste into your browser and get ready to drool!

NADE, well, we need to get one of these books into your hot, little hands, don't we? Check out my website at www.julielessman.com for additional blog interviews where there are book giveaways.

Hugs,
Julie

Ooooohhhh man, Julie, you picked the perfect actor! I am drooling!! :) I loved him in Alias, a tv show my brother used to watch.
Now I'll keep picturing him when I read their story. :)
And I can't tell you how much I want to read it, I can't read anything else right now cause all I want is A Passion Denied!
I wish our local bookstore had it already!
I guess I'll just have to be patient for a while longer and keep reading all the short excerpts I can find of it!

That was an awesome review you gave of the book. I have a copy of this book and must say I can't wait till school is over to start the series. Looks like we'll have lots to chat about from what everyone is saying about the book. Can't wait to read it. Good luck to everyone who entered to win a copy!!!

PEACHYKATH ... I think the copy of this book that you're talking about is the signed one sitting on my desk, getting ready to go out next Monday to you, right? One signed copy of A Passion Redeemed coming your way, so look for it in 7-10 days, okay? And thanks for your kind comments.

CAROLE, when you say you are "almost ready for this book," I assume you mean you are just finishing up Redeemed? That's the best way to do it ... go from one to the next! Good luck in the contest!

Julie

Hi

I would love to win a copy of A Passion Redeemed so please enter me in the giveaway. Hope I win it as then I'll have a good excuse to buy book 1 as "this is a series that needs to be read in order" (quoting Julie!)

Thank you

Best wishes

LEANNA, thanks SO much for your kind comments ... I'm guessing you're talking about the post entitled "Quick, Dial 911 ... We're Setting a Fire With Romantic Tension"? I'm actually repeating that blog on Five Scribes blog on June 1st for anybody who would like to catch it (there will be a giveaway as well). Just check my website calendar for the link.

RUTH!!! Uh, I DO tend to repeat myself on that "read them in order, PLEASE!" line of thinking I have, and I soooo appreciate your being willing to comply ... I hope you won't regret it when you finish the series! And maybe you won't HAVE to buy book 1 because I am running a lot of giveaways on my website calendar for the winner's choice of books, so give it a shot.

Hugs,
Julie

Love the newest book in the series - it has so many twists and turns and keeps you guessing right to the end - not your typical, predicatable book! I wish we could talk your publisher into releasing the next book earlier! thanks for writing!
